Privacy
Your data, plainly.
What we collect, why we use it, how long we keep it, and your rights.
What we collect
When you book, we collect your name, phone number, email address, vehicle details and anything you add in the notes. We also store job logs, invoice details and any work photos added by the workshop. If you use Find my car, we receive the official vehicle, MOT, mileage, defect and recall data available for that registration. This site does not use advertising cookies or third-party marketing trackers.
Why we use it
We use booking and job data to take steps at your request, confirm and perform the service contract, contact you about the work and provide invoices and service records. We keep accounting records where the law requires it, and use limited service history and security records for our legitimate interests in running the workshop, handling warranties and resolving disputes. We do not sell your details or use them for marketing.
Who receives it
We use a small number of carefully chosen providers to run this service: secure website hosting, transactional email delivery, and the official DVSA and DVLA vehicle enquiry services. Operational data is also covered by private, access-controlled off-site backups. Each provider processes only the data needed for its role. Some providers may process data outside the UK; where that happens, recognised contractual or legal transfer safeguards apply. A full list of providers is available on request.
How long we keep it
An unbooked vehicle lookup is normally removed after 30 days. Booking, job, invoice and work-photo records are kept only while needed for service history, warranty, accounting and legal claims; accounting records normally need to be retained for six years after the relevant financial year. Operational backups are retained for recovery and rotated separately. We remove or anonymise data when its retention purpose ends.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your personal data, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can also withdraw consent where consent is the basis, although we do not rely on consent for booking and workshop administration. Some rights are limited where we must retain records by law or need them for legal claims.
Questions or complaints
Contact us first at [email protected] and we will investigate. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
